Rice Husk
Management SOP
Receiving ,
spraying and sun drying:
1. After rice husk
receiving from Party stack the rice husk bags in one corner of
Chatal.
2. Sweep the chatal
floor before spreading rice husk.
3. Spread the rice
husk bags on chatal floor up to 4 inch or max 6 inch height.
During spreading
time check carefully that all husk are dry. If there is wet rice husk
then dry it separately.
4. Then sort out the
ropes, dry leaves, cow dungs, birds dropping or other foreign
materials from
rice husk.
5. Spray the rice
husk with Insecticide (like Sevin) @ 35g /10 liter water for 5
decimal area.
After that again
need to racking whole rice husk and spray again for two times. Total
spraying is three times.
6. Then make it sun
dried for minimum two hours and it should be ensured all times.
7. Start bagging and
follow first spread first bagging procedure.
8. Keep sun dry
record time. It’s very important.
9. Use clean bags
all time.
10 . Wild birds
should never get access to chatal.
11. Must assign one
security guard so that wild birds can not sit on rice husk.
Rice husk storage and Fumigation:
1. Storage godown should be leak proof for fumigation.
2. Stack the husk bags following first in first out procedure.
3. Fumigate the godown (@ 10.6 g / cubic feet) until finish the
paraformaldehyde and keep it without ventilation for 12 hours. After
that start ventilation fans (exhaust fan).
Special note for
Chatal and godown:
1. Boundary wall of chatal should be repaired.
2. Use fogging machine for sparing insecticide.
3. Close all gap of godown between side wall and roof so that
fumigation fume can not pass at. all.
4. Wild Birds and domestic chickens are the main problem.
5. Chatal area = 115 feet x 75feet= 8625 square feet /435.6= 20
decimal. Need 40 liter water and 140 gm sevin for one time sprary.
6. Paraformaldehyde requirement for godown:
Gogown no 2: 71'
x 42.75' x 20' = 59285
cubic feet / 10.6 = 5600 gram
Godown no 3: 110' x 34' x 20'
=74800 cubic feet / 10.6 = 7000 gram
Godown no 4: 106' x 60'
x15.5' = 98580 cubic feet /10.6 = 9300 gram
7. Residual
paraformaldehyde shall must be disposed under soil
